Monitor rain across Hua Hin, Prachuap, and the narrow isthmus coast. Updated every 5 minutes.
Prachuap Khiri Khan province occupies Thailand's narrowest point — just 13 km between the Gulf of Thailand and the Myanmar border. This unique geography means weather systems from both the Gulf and the Andaman side can affect the province. Hua Hin, the royal beach resort, and Prachuap city sit directly on the Gulf coast with mountains rising sharply behind them.
Both monsoons affect this narrow isthmus. The southwest monsoon (May–October) brings rain from the Andaman side over the mountains, while the northeast monsoon onset (October–November) adds Gulf moisture. September–November can see 200+ mm per month.
December sees the monsoon tapering off. April brings pre-monsoon heat with occasional afternoon thunderstorms building over the mountains.
Pleasant weather with minimal rainfall — under 30 mm per month. Hua Hin enjoys its peak season with clear skies and gentle breezes from the Gulf.

The resort town's outdoor lifestyle — golf courses, beach clubs, night markets — depends on dry weather windows. Radar helps plan activities around tropical showers.
Prachuap Khiri Khan is Thailand's largest pineapple-producing province. Farmers use radar to time harvesting and transportation of this rain-sensitive crop.
Small-scale fishermen along the coast from Hua Hin to Bang Saphan monitor radar to avoid squalls while at sea.
Wing 5 at Prachuap air base requires accurate weather monitoring for flight operations along the coast.
RainViewer covers the entire narrow province, from Hua Hin in the north to Bang Saphan in the south. Gulf of Thailand coverage shows approaching storms, and the narrow width of the province means weather from the Andaman side can also be tracked as it crosses the mountains.

The province is only 13 km wide at its narrowest point. Weather systems from both the Gulf of Thailand (east) and the Andaman Sea (west, crossing Myanmar) can bring rain here.
Yes. Radar provides excellent coastal coverage, showing Gulf storms approaching the shore well in advance. Mountain-generated storms from the west are also visible as they cross the ranges.
Radar is perfect for this. Check the animation 30 minutes before tee time to see if any rain cells are heading toward the course.
Prachuap's rain comes from two directions and doesn't follow Bangkok's weekend forecast. The map updates every 5 minutes — often 2–5 minutes faster than other apps — so by the time a Gulf cell is forming off Hua Hin, you've already seen it before you leave the city.
