    Krovanh’s oldest reading records a tropical storm over the Philippine Sea at 22.5°N, 131.5°E. Sustained winds measured 65 km/h, gusts reached 75 km/h and pressure measured 995 mb. The storm was stationary at that observation, with movement recorded as 0° at 0 km/h.

  2. 1 September — Begins moving east

    By 12:00 UTC, Krovanh remained a tropical storm with 65 km/h winds and 993 mb pressure. The storm moved east at 7 km/h, recorded as 100°. Six hours later, Krovanh was still at tropical-storm strength and moving east at 11 km/h, while pressure rose slightly to 994 mb.

  3. 2 September — Weakens to a tropical depression

    At 00:00 UTC on 2 September, Krovanh’s classification changed to tropical depression. Sustained winds fell to 56 km/h and gusts to 64 km/h, while pressure remained 994 mb. The storm moved at 6 km/h in the 80° direction, east-northeast by the compass bearing.

  4. 2 September — Regains tropical-storm strength

    At 06:00 UTC, Krovanh returned to tropical-storm strength with 65 km/h winds and 75 km/h gusts. Pressure stayed at 994 mb. The storm had turned towards the north, moving at 7 km/h on a 345° bearing, compared with the eastward motion in the previous readings.

    The latest reading records Krovanh as a tropical storm with 65 km/h winds, 75 km/h gusts and 993 mb pressure. The storm is moving north-west on a 325° bearing at 15 km/h. The latest position is 23.9°N, 131.7°E, over the Philippine Sea.

  6. 5 September — Weakens to a tropical depression

    At 12:00 UTC on 5 September, Krovanh weakened from a tropical storm to a tropical depression. Maximum sustained winds fell from 65 km/h to 56 km/h, gusts fell from 75 km/h to 64 km/h, and pressure rose from 988 mb to 993 mb. The centre was 82 km off Japan.
