2. 17 September — Pressure falls to 1,009 mb

   Pressure decreases to 1,009 mb while Odalys remains a tropical depression. Winds briefly reach 46 km/h, and the system begins moving westward at speeds between 19 km/h and 37 km/h.

3. 19 September — Pressure falls to 1,008 mb

   Odalys remains a tropical depression as pressure drops to 1,008 mb. Winds reach 46 km/h, and the track continues generally westward from 119.1°W to 123.5°W during the next 24 hours.

4. 20 September — Strengthens into a tropical storm

   The latest reading classifies Odalys as a tropical storm with 65 km/h winds, 75 km/h gusts and pressure of 1,005 mb. The centre is at 11.2°N, 124.2°W and is moving westward at 13 km/h.

5. 23 September — Strengthens into a category 1 hurricane

   At 06:00 UTC, Odalys reaches category 1 hurricane strength with 120 km/h winds and gusts of 138 km/h. Its central pressure falls to 989 mb, compared with 994 mb at the previous reading. The storm is at 15.8°N, 128.7°W, moving north-east at 16 km/h.

6. 25 September — Strengthens into a category 2 hurricane

   At 00:00 UTC, Odalys reached category 2 strength with winds of 167 km/h, gusts of 192 km/h and pressure of 968 mb. The storm was at 16.9, -124.4, moving on a 66° heading at 14 km/h. The previous reading recorded category 1 strength, 148 km/h winds and 976 mb pressure.

8. September 25 — Strengthens into a category 4 hurricane

   At 12:00 UTC on September 25, Odalys strengthened from category 3 to category 4. Maximum sustained winds reached 213 km/h, with gusts of 245 km/h, while central pressure fell to 946 mb. The reading placed the storm at 17.7°N, 123.8°W, moving northeast at 9 km/h.

9. September 26 — Weakens to a category 3 hurricane
